How to Find the Right Excavator

 Excavators are earth-moving machines used primarily for digging, but they can be used in a wide variety of applications such as material handling, demolition, forestry, and landscaping due to the many attachments they support.

An excavator consists of six main parts: undercarriage, cab, hydraulics, boom, stick, and bucket.

 Undercarriage (Track System)

The undercarriage houses the travel mechanism of the excavator. Excavators travel using either treads or wheels. If mobility is very important to you, consider a wheeled excavator. They are able to move much faster than tread excavators, and they can also drive on most roads without having to be transported on a trailer.

 Cab

The cab of an excavator is where the operator sits. Many compact/mini excavators have either an open or enclosed cab, but most full-size excavators have enclosed cabs.

 Hydraulics

Hydraulics are where excavators derive their power. Excavators have cylinders filled with special oil that can operate at extremely high pressures, enabling them to lift heavy loads with ease.
